<p><strong>It&#8217;s unlikely that you haven&#8217;t noticed the new trend of indoor plants in New York. Let&#8217;s have a look at the best suited plants for your flat.</strong></p>

<p>Over the past few years, many of us have been reminded of the value of having access to nature. You don&#8217;t have to fully abandon the beauty of mother nature just because you don&#8217;t have a garden or the time to spend a few minutes traveling to the nearest park. Not when you can improve your NYC apartment with beautiful indoor plants.</p>

<p>The majority of rental flats in New York lack gardens, and many plants that require full light, space, and other conditions more often seen outside cannot be grown there either. The plants listed below, however, will flourish in the most of apartments and just need occasional watering. Look closely at a handful of the top plants for New York City flats.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How Can I Grow Plants in New York City?</h2>

<p>We know that life in New York is busy and people usually don’t have time for gardening and stuff. But taking some time to focus yourself at home will help you stay centered throughout the quickly passing days when every second feels like a New York minute. A terrific idea to include regular meditation into your day and liven up your apartment in the city is to grow and take care of plants.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="936" height="702" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-20.png" alt="" class="wp-image-741" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-20.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-20-300x225.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-20-768x576.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /></figure>

<p>Although it might not be the first that comes to mind when you think of New York City, the city&#8217;s chilly winters and hot summers have nurtured a variety of unusual native plants. The native plants of New York City thrive in a lot of sunlight and sandy, low-nutrient soils. They are also fairly hardy. Sadly, many of these native plants are disappearing altogether. Thinking about incorporating native plants into your indoor planting ideas and gardens is one of the finest ways to contribute. We have lists of simple-to-grow plants for your New York City apartment, some of which are native. You can now enhance the vibe in your apartment and preserve local plants!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Ideal Plants for Newbies to Grow Indoors</h2>

<p>We found several plants that thrive well also in smaller apartments without much natural light. Let&#8217;s bring a little bit more nature into your home.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Snake Plant</h3>

<p>The <a href="https://open-grower.com/2022/09/13/how-to-repot-a-snake-plant/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">snake plant</a> is an attractive plant with little maintenance needs because of its fashionable spikes. Being succulents, they only require watering once every two to three weeks, which is fantastic for those who lead busy lives. Low light and mild to bright indirect light also make them happy.</p>

<p>On rare occasions, snake plants will bloom with lovely white blossoms that smell like jasmine. Additionally, they are among the top 10 air cleaning plants according to NASA. Don&#8217;t limit your search for Manhattan rental apartments to imagining where you&#8217;ll put your stuff. Imagine a spectacular snake plant where you may admire its remarkable shape and serpentine patterns!</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img decoding="async" width="405" height="270" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-19.png" alt="" class="wp-image-734" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-19.png 405w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-19-300x200.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 405px) 100vw, 405px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Snake plants not only look gorgeous in apartments but they are also great in cleaning the air.</figcaption></figure>
</div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Zz Plants</h3>

<p>The Zz Plant is another popular and excellent indoor plant. The Zz is able to retain a lot of water and nutrients thanks to its rhizome root’s structure, an underground root system marked by somewhat bulbous nodes. Although they are usually brilliant green, but also provide a deep purple Zz Plant type known as the Nova Star. When completely grown, the leaves turn a nearly-black tone, adding remarkable aesthetic value to any house.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="936" height="526" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-22.png" alt="The Zz plant, also called Zamioculcas or Zuzu plant is an Araceae. These plants originate from southern part of Africa." class="wp-image-743" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-22.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-22-300x169.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-22-768x432.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">The Zz plant, also called Zamioculcas or Zuzu plant is an Araceae. These plants originate from southern part of Africa.</figcaption></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Pothos</h3>

<p>The Pothos is commonly referred to as &#8220;the cubicle plant&#8221; since it can survive in unfavorable conditions. The Pothos doesn&#8217;t require direct sunshine, but it doesn&#8217;t tolerate low light as well as its buddies the Snake and the ZZ do. Also, if you don&#8217;t have much space, it looks lovely whether hung from a hook or exhibited higher up on a shelf with its leaves cascading down. It needs watering every week or two, but if you forget while traveling for two weeks, it really recovers with a good watering. As an alternative you could also think about getting a <a href="https://open-grower.com/2022/04/17/an-ultimate-guide-about-mishima-plant/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mishima Plant</a>. It likes more humid environments but is very resistant to pests and spider mites.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="920" height="612" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-23.png" alt="The Photos comes with large leaves." class="wp-image-744" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-23.png 920w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-23-300x200.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-23-768x511.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 920px) 100vw, 920px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">The Pothos comes with large leaves.</figcaption></figure>
</div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Marimo Moss Balls</h3>

<p>Marimo moss balls, a unique indoor plant, are excellent for people living in apartments. It is simple to take care of them by placing them in a bowl, jar, or glass of water in a location with low indirect light. Plus, they look amazing in fish aquariums. Remove the moss balls, rinse the container, add fresh water, and then replace them when the water begins to seem dusty or murky.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="706" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-24.png" alt="Marimo Moss Balls are great underwater plants for your apartment. " class="wp-image-745" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-24.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-24-300x226.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-24-768x579.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Marimo Moss Balls are great underwater plants for your apartment. </figcaption></figure>
</div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Cacti And Succulents</h3>

<p>Small to medium-sized succulents and cacti come in a wide variety of oddly beautiful shades and patterns. Choose a few distinct varieties, plant them in a pot, terrariums, or recycled containers, and then place them in warm locations with bright or direct light, depending on the plants you&#8217;ve selected. Because they are cacti and succulents, they don&#8217;t need much water or upkeep. Haworthia, echeveria, crassula, tillandsia, and air plants are a few kinds to think about.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="470" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-25.png" alt="Cacti or Succulents are often beginner friendly as they don't need much water and caretaking." class="wp-image-746" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-25.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-25-300x151.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-25-768x386.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Cacti or Succulents are often beginner friendly as they don&#8217;t need much water and caretaking.</figcaption></figure>
</div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Peace Lily</h3>

<p>These houseplants are well known for being attractive and simple to care for. They don&#8217;t need much water to keep healthy, which is perfect for people who don&#8217;t have a nice garden. According to NASA studies, Peace Lillies are the best plants for eliminating airborne pollutants. To avoid the leaves becoming brown from direct sunlight, simply place them in a shady spot. They only need to be watered once a week, but to maintain the leaves healthy, you should often mist them with water vapor. The main drawback is that they can be poisonous to both people and animals if consumed.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="930" height="488" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-26.png" alt="Peace Lillies are the best plants for eliminating airborne pollutants" class="wp-image-747" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-26.png 930w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-26-300x157.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-26-768x403.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 930px) 100vw, 930px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Peace Lillies are the best plants for eliminating airborne pollutants</figcaption></figure>
</div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Bamboo Palm</h3>

<p>Because of its tropical appearance and insect-repelling properties, the bamboo palm is another well-liked purifying houseplant. Bamboo Palms commonly called &#8220;reed palms,&#8221; enjoy strong indirect light and temperatures between 60 and 70 F (16-21°C). As they adjust to the circumstances inside, they frequently lose some of their foliage, but this is natural. The new growth will be slowed or even prevented if you pinch the tip of the new stalks, so remove the dead fronds instead. This houseplant is also very effective at removing pollutants from the air.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="492" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-27.png" alt="The Bamboo Palm likes strong indirect light." class="wp-image-748" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-27.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-27-300x158.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-27-768x404.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">The Bamboo Palm likes strong indirect light.</figcaption></figure>
</div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Gerbera Daisy</h3>

<p>Gorgeous Gerbera daisies not only make your house prettier, but they also improve the air in your apartment. Because gerbera daisies are a unique plant that releases oxygen at night, put them in your bedroom for peaceful sleep. As soon as the soil in the container dries out, they need sunlight and water, therefore they need some maintenance.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-28.png" alt="Gerbera Daisy is a very special plant that releases Oxygen at night." class="wp-image-749" width="610" height="384" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-28.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-28-300x189.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-28-768x484.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Gerbera Daisy is a very special plant that releases Oxygen at night.</figcaption></figure>
</div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Iron Plant</h3>

<p>It thrives as an indoor plant and gets big enough to be noticeable without taking over your entire living space. The cast iron plant thrives in low-light environments and is ideal for indoor settings. The cast-iron plant needs indirect light since direct sunlight might burn its leaves. This indicates that it may be cultivated inside close to windows that face north or even far away from windows in a deep chamber. The cast iron plant&#8217;s capacity to enhance the air quality is another benefit. A thorough NASA study shows that indoor plants have the ability to absorb dangerous pollutants like benzene and formaldehyde that are present in homes and office buildings.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="696" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-30.png" alt="" class="wp-image-751" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-30.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-30-300x223.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/image-30-768x571.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">New York Planting Zones</h3>

<p>Depending on where you live in New York City, you are either in Zone 7a or Zone 7b according to the USDA&#8217;s classification of plant hardiness. Zone 7 can grow a lot more plants because it has a longer growing season. Many plants can withstand the cold as well. Hardy fruiting plants like peach and apple trees are also excellent choices, as are herbs that can survive the winter. Strawberries and blackberries are only two examples of berries that thrive in New York City. Tropical plants that require a lot of heat all year round won&#8217;t do as well outside, and you could have trouble providing them with adequate light indoors.</p>

<p>The final frost typically occurs around April 5th in New York City. You should start your seeds inside at the end of January if you intend to grow herbs like thyme or rosemary. Midway through March is the ideal time to sow seeds inside for crops like watermelons, pumpkins, cucumbers, or zucchini. The first fall frost in New York occurs around mid-November. Remember that May is often when New York City experiences the greatest rainfall. Zone 7 has forgiving weather, so you may easily cultivate a variety of fruits, herbs, and vegetables to enjoy every year by being mindful.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Final Words</h2>

<p>In New York City, space is always a concern whether you are gardening indoors or outside. Thinking vertically is one way to get around this! If you just have a little outdoor space, growing trellis plants might make it feel greener without taking up all of your gardening space. If you want to save room while still enjoying new plant buddies indoors, think about hanging plants that will look good and also save up space.</p>

<p>After choosing a plant, it&#8217;s time to ensure its success. Although the three elements of light, temperature, and water are essential for a healthy plant, there are ways to improve them regardless of your surroundings or lifestyle. For instance, you may choose a grow lamp if your home receives little natural light. If your apartment has a lot of windows, think about when the sun is at its highest point and whether anything is in the way of its direct light. Above all, relax and enjoy yourself with your plants.</p>

<p><strong>Whereas humans prefer humidity levels of 40 to 60% there are a bunch of plants that thrive in low humidity of as little as 20% or less.</strong></p>

<p>One of the most challenging aspects of house maintenance is humidity since it frequently falls beyond of your control. It&#8217;s difficult to sustain that level continually, even when you reach it. The bad news is that if you love plants, how will they survive in such dry conditions?</p>

<p>One solution is to create a high-humidity atmosphere using pebble trays, humidifiers, or regular misting. but that can be difficult and time consuming. For many folks, discovering houseplants that thrive in low humidity is a dream come true.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="624" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-1.png" alt="" class="wp-image-362" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-1.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-1-300x200.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-1-768x512.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /><figcaption>Common houseplants prefer humidity levels  around 40 to 60% which matches well with human preference.</figcaption></figure>

<p>Compared to other plants, those that are native to arid areas are more tolerant to dry air. They achieve this by developing fewer leaves, which leads to fewer stomata and significantly lower water loss. Low-humidity plant décor may save time with today&#8217;s hectic lifestyles. There aren&#8217;t many plants that prefer dry air, but many can endure low humidity. Here is a list of several plants to try, ranging from cactus to common houseplants.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Jade Plant</h2>

<p>A desert plant, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crassula_ovata" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Jade</a> can endure both hot and cold air conditions (ranging from 30% to 50% humidity level). It is a fantastic plant that constantly remains green while other plants in a dry environment wither and die. According to experts, a jade plant may raise the relative humidity in an area. Since the majority of its evapotranspiration occurs at night, it is a suitable choice for raising humidity throughout the colder seasons of the year. Keep a jade plant in a sunny area, such as close to a south-facing window, to help it thrive. The amount of irrigation it receives changes according on the season.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="702" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-2.png" alt="Jade plants are common in South Africa regions and used to desert like conditions with low humidity. With its capability to cope with humidity levels of 30% it's a great fit for dry homes." class="wp-image-363" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-2.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-2-300x225.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-2-768x576.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /><figcaption>Jade plants are common in South Africa regions and used to desert like conditions with low humidity. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Snake Plant</h2>

<p>This elegant plant is a favorite in a variety of houses, including those in arid conditions. In addition to being a houseplant that is often hard to kill, <a href="https://open-grower.com/2022/09/13/how-to-repot-a-snake-plant/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">snake plants don&#8217;t need much supervision or upkeep</a>. Consider this one of the finest houseplants for low light as it can thrive in both shaded places and bright, sunny locations.</p>

<p>However, it is crucial to control the amount of water based on how much light they receive. More water should be given to them as they receive more light. Since snake plants grow slowly, they don&#8217;t require frequent repotting in order to increase the size of their container. But it&#8217;s always a good idea to switch out the potting soil for any plant once a year.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="528" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-3.png" alt="The Snake Plant is similar to the Jade Plant found in the African regions and therefore also used to lower humidity and desert like conditions. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Chinese Evergreens</h2>

<p>Even the most inexperienced gardener may become an expert in growing Chinese evergreens, unlike other houseplants that take extra work to provide the good conditions for growth. The ideal humidity range for Chinese evergreens is between 60% and 70%. They will then develop quickly and have colorful leaves. Indirect sunlight or medium to low light levels are ideal for Chinese evergreen plants. You should make sure the plant obtains mild temperatures and moderate humidity levels wherever you put it in the house. However, if required, this adaptable plant will endure less than perfect temperatures.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="702" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-4.png" alt="" class="wp-image-365" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-4.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-4-300x225.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-4-768x576.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Aloe Vera</h2>

<p>As a result of this succulent&#8217;s many health advantages, with skin care being its most well-known, it has gained a lot of popularity as a houseplant. Aloe Vera grows best in direct, bright light. To develop, it does require a lot of strong light.</p>

<p><a href="https://open-grower.com/2022/01/30/when-to-water-my-aloe-plant/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Aloe Vera</a> is famous for its soothing qualities as well as its versatility, which includes its capacity to flourish in conditions of both extremely high and extremely low humidity. Simple maintenance is giving your aloe plant regular, thorough watering and positioning it near a window so it may benefit from some direct sunlight.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="674" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-5.png" alt="" class="wp-image-366" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-5.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-5-300x216.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-5-768x553.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Spineless Yucca</h2>

<p>The spineless yucca is a hardy evergreen plant that does well in both your living room and garden. The yucca thrives with little care and attention. The most important factors for a healthy plant are a lot of sunlight and dry, well-drained soil. Don&#8217;t water this plant excessively.</p>

<p>An extremely resistant plant, the spineless yucca can withstand a wide range of temperatures, from slightly below freezing to 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32° C). These plants, however, do best in moderate temperatures and humidity conditions. Higher than 30% relative humidity is fatal to yucca plants. This makes yucca plants thrive in the regulated humidity and temperature of indoor environments.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="528" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-6.png" alt="" class="wp-image-367" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-6.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-6-300x169.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-6-768x433.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Spider Plant</h2>

<p><a href="https://open-grower.com/2022/10/09/curly-spider-plant/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Spider plants</a>, or Chlorophytum comosum, are interesting, simple houseplants that look wonderful in bathrooms since they can thrive in higher humidity levels and low light levels. Spider plants would look fantastic as a hanging plant above a bathtub to create a dramatic impact. Due to their ability to create plantlets at the ends of their stalks, spider plants are simple to reproduce. Just cut a plantlet and submerge it in water. Transfer the plant to potting soil after the roots are approximately an inch long.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="760" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-7.png" alt="" class="wp-image-368" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-7.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-7-300x244.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-7-768x624.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Peace lily</h2>

<p>Tropical evergreens called peace lilies bloom in the summer with a white flower. They can grow taller under the right circumstances, typically reaching a height of up to 16 inches (40.64 cm). A warm, well-lit space is what a peace lily like to call home. It requires wet soil. If you occasionally forget to water it, don&#8217;t worry. That will be easier on it than being overwatered.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="546" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-8.png" alt="" class="wp-image-369" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-8.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-8-300x175.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-8-768x448.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Devil’s Ivy</h2>

<p>The Devil&#8217;s Ivy, commonly referred to as Golden Pothos, is incredibly simple to maintain and grow. It can also produce spectacular trailing effects and is a lovely low humidity indoor plant. It requires minimal work to develop quickly. The Devil&#8217;s Ivy, a native of the Society Islands in French Polynesia, prefers direct light that is brilliant. The variation becomes more colorful with increasing light intensity. It can thrive in low and moderate light levels as well.</p>

<p>On the other hand, its leaves may really suffer from exposure to direct sunshine. Instead of overwatering this plant, it is recommended to underwater it. The soil should be allowed to dry out in between watering.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="462" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-9.png" alt="" class="wp-image-370" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-9.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-9-300x148.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-9-768x379.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">String of Pearls</h2>

<p>The indoor trailing plant known as &#8220;Strings of Pearls&#8221; is one of the best houseplants that grow in dry air. It is crucial that you understand this plant is a succulent and manage it accordingly. Put it in a location with lots of light, preferably direct sunlight.</p>

<p>The pearl string is used to living in low humidity because it is from the arid regions of southwest Africa. Use a sandy soil and take care not to overwater—once every two weeks or so should be adequate—to further simulate their natural environment.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="906" height="482" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-10.png" alt="" class="wp-image-371" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-10.png 906w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-10-300x160.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-10-768x409.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 906px) 100vw, 906px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Cactus</h2>

<p>Cacti are desert plants that can withstand the hot, dry climate. Cacti are now widely used as indoor plants and may be seen in hanging planters, outdoor gardens, windowsills, and container displays.</p>

<p>In environments with sufficient ventilation and minimal humidity, cacti survive better. Although many cacti can tolerate settings with increased humidity levels, they still can&#8217;t withstand highly humid conditions. For the majority of cactus species, the relative humidity varies from 40% to 60%. Despite the fact that the humidity level should be between 40% and 60%, certain types of desert cactus may still thrive in conditions when the humidity is below 40%.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="470" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-11.png" alt="" class="wp-image-372" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-11.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-11-300x151.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-11-768x386.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bamboo Palm</h2>

<p>Unlike many of its warm-weather siblings, it can actually survive in minimal light, making it a unique tropical joy. The bamboo palm thrives in low, indirect light, contrary to the fact that the majority of tropical plants really require intense light to survive. They do have certain temperature and humidity needs. The bamboo palm thrives in conditions with medium to high humidity and temperatures between 65- and 80-degrees Fahrenheit (18.33 °C).</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="644" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-12.png" alt="" class="wp-image-373" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-12.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-12-300x206.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-12-768x528.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Heartleaf Philodendron</h2>

<p>The popular indoor plant is known as the Sweetheart Plant since they are so simple and easy to cultivate. It is another low humidity indoor plant that is simple to maintain and is very lush and lovely! This quickly growing plant, which is native to the Caribbean and Central America, can adapt to a range of light conditions, including indirect light that is bright or moderate. Avoid being under direct sunlight. It requires minimal maintenance to survive for a few years in a tiny container. Despite being a lovely evergreen plant with tropical roots, it tolerates dry air.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="702" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-13.png" alt="" class="wp-image-374" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-13.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-13-300x225.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-13-768x576.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Kalanchoes</h2>

<p>Kalanchoes thrive in dry air and low humidity, making them one among the greatest dry air houseplants. Kalanchoes stop flowering when temperatures are too hot or too cold. Temperatures between 60- and 85-degrees Fahrenheit (30°C), or normal indoor air temperatures, are good. If you bring your plant outside during the summer, give it some afternoon shade to escape the hottest part of the day. Before the cold season arrives, bring your kalanchoes indoors. Temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4°C) may harm or kill the plant.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="624" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-14.png" alt="" class="wp-image-375" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-14.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-14-300x200.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-14-768x512.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Aphelandra Zebra Houseplant</h2>

<p>The stunning dark green leaves of the zebra plant have stunning white stripes. Zebra plants might be a little difficult to care for because they are susceptible to both over and underwatering. Throughout the active growth season, make sure the soil is continually wet.</p>

<p>Zebra plants like warm, humid, and gloomy conditions because they are native to tropical regions. Your zebra plant should be kept in a room with a humidity level of between 60 and 70% and a temperature of at least 60 degrees Fahrenheit (15.556°C).</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="936" height="624" src="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-15.png" alt="" class="wp-image-376" srcset="https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-15.png 936w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-15-300x200.png 300w, https://open-grower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/image-15-768x512.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 936px) 100vw, 936px" /></figure>
